I can’t wait to go study the whole business behind music. I can’t wait to figure out how to market them, and find them, and genuinely just help them as much as I can. As much as I love playing, I don’t have the talent to be a working musician myself, so I just want to give back in any way I can.
I refuse to be one of those music execs only in it for money, or who don’t listen to the artists’ input. I wanna put them in the best position they can to have the most success they can. And I know I can do it. I have big aspirations.

I would argue that 5 Seconds of Summer doing so well on the charts is incredibly important for guitar based music, regardless of whether you actually like their music. So really, if you like guitar based music, whether it come in the form of pop, pop-punk, whatever other genre, you should be incredibly excited that this band is so popular!
If you look at top 40 charts, with the exception of a few bands, it’s mainly just singers, many of which have little to no input on their music, and certainly have nothing to do with the instrumentation involved in performance. I’m not knocking that at all, by the way, as I firmly believe that all kinds of music holds significance and serves a purpose in the market, it’s just pointing out a fact. I mean hell, I have a ridiculous amount of “shitty” pop music (which I can also argue how it’s not shitty, but that’s a post for another time), so I obviously have no problem with it.
There has been such a critique of this type of music as of late, with many saying it’s on the way out in terms of mainstream popularity, but they’re proving that it’s not and doesn’t have to be. And I don’t know about you, but that makes me pretty damn happy.
find someone who looks at you the same way mark ruffalo looks at paul rudd
